I separate my Electric Guitar lessons into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. If you are not a beginner you can jump in at any level.
The emphasis is on learning all aspects of Electric Guitar playing such as Rhythm, Lead and the grey areas between the too. You will learn to improvise your own solos and how to play in a band situation.
All these exercises are recorded on CD, which includes the example followed by a backing for you to play along with yourself.
I have a large library of songs you can learn and I am happy for you to bring along anything you would like to look at. I always have to point out to students that you need to know a certain amount of technique before you play your first song though.
Lead Guitar
At each level you will learn some written solos in different styles that show a number of techniques. You also learn to improvise, including Blues, Major and minor keys and for more advanced students, modes.
Rhythm Guitar
If you want to play in a band you will also have to learn rhythm guitar. I have many Rhythm Guitar Exercises, demonstrating different different styles and techniques.
Rockschool™
I have taught Rockschool™ exams for a number of years now. If you are taking music at school or college these are very helpful. Grades 6 - 8 count towards UCAS points.
